Linday, who in 2001 played for New Wave Volleyball Club and graduated from Newark Catholic, has gone on to Ohio Wesleyan University, where she now excels as an outside hitter for the Battling Bishops.
DELAWARE, OHIO — Ohio Wesleyan University senior Lindsay Wohlheter (Newark/Newark Catholic) has been named North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 18, it was announced by the NCAC.
Wohlheter, an outside hitter for the Battling Bishop volleyball team, had 6 kills, 10 digs and 3 service aces as Ohio Wesleyan defeated Earlham in NCAC action on Saturday. Earlier, she led the Bishops with 16 kills and 33 digs in a 5-game loss to Wilmington. She totaled 23 kills, 47 digs, 2 solo blocks, 3 service aces and 1 assist on the week.
DELAWARE, OHIO — Ohio Wesleyan University senior Lindsay Wohlheter (Newark/Newark Catholic) was named "W" Association Athlete of the Week for the week of September 20.
Wohlheter, an outside hitter on the Battling Bishop volleyball team, had a pair of kills as Ohio Wesleyan scored 4 straight points to ward off a Bluffton comeback and seal a 30-20 win in the third game of a non-conference match. Wohlheter finished with team-high figures of 11 kills and 27 digs.
Junior Jeff Fisher (Westerville/North), a soccer forward, was named as the male Athlete of the Week. The "W" Association Athletes of the Week are selected by a committee of Ohio Wesleyan coaches and are announced on Mondays. The "W" Association is the alumni organization of Ohio Wesleyan varsity letter winners, which includes nearly 4000 former student-athletes from around the world.
