![]() | ![]() | I would like to take this moment to recognize the New Wave 18s’ teams that played in Parkersburg this past weekend. After New Wave Parkison and Doup dominated their pools, they sailed through the semifinals and met in the finals. The finals were one of the most intense games that I have coached in a long time. After dropping the first game, New Wave Parkison came back to win the second game with an explosive front line and some great passes to allow Aundrea Noe to get her feet under her and set some great balls. New Wave Doup stormed out to an 8-3 lead in the third game by the great one two punch of Laney Warthen and Angela McNulty. Doup continued to lead with great defense nearing the end of the game. At 14-12, New Wave Parkison went on a run and finished the game on top, 17-15. This tournament showed how solid Licking County volleyball has become with the help of New Wave VBC. The intensity, focus and competitiveness shown by both teams throughout the day were impressive. Congratulations to both teams and a job well done. — Coach Parkison |
